Education is primarily, the development of character and mental powers within the framework of a definite system. While it is the common objective that underlines education, the system may vary in response to the needs of different societies. Bangladesh International School, was established in 1993 by the leaders of the Bangladesh Expatriates to provide quality education to our children in the country of their residence.
The consistency between ends and means is a strategy universally recognized.

1.1 BIS aims at developing the younger generation, the real architects of a society by prompting the talent qualities of their head and heart through intellectual and mental training and by infusing into them cosmopolitan values. It also seeks to inspire them to explore their environment to serve them best and not master it. Finally, BIS aspires for idealism to blend with realism among the students flocking to its Campus. The school has passed through its initial phases and developed into a fully- fledged international school recognized by Saudi Arabia. The school received its license from MoE in 1999.
1.2 BIS is a cent re attached to the University of Cambridge through the British Council (BC), which has had regular inspections. It prepares its students to qualify for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and General Certificate of Education (GCE), Advanced level of University of Cambridge, U.K. The University also provides the school with necessary educational materials through the British Council. The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) conducts these examinations worldwide. Certificates for both IGCSE and GCE (A Level) examinations are issued under the signature of Vice-Chancellor, University of Cambridge, UK.
The teachers of BIS, who are mostly certified by Cambridge University, have access to “The Teachers’ Support Website” from CIE to update themselves and get guidelines regarding their curriculum. Also accessible from the same site are syllabi, textbooks and worksheets etc for the lower and middle schools.
1.3 BIS provides the students with an opportunity to study under the loving care of highly qualified, competent and experienced teachers. It has continued to maintain an enlightened atmosphere on the campus. It never fails in its responsibility to provide the students with a high level of sophisticated learning facilities that cater to their needs for the development of their inquisitive minds, both theoretically and practically.
The School has established an up-to-date standard science laboratory, which meets all the requirements and standards of Cambridge University. From last year the practical examination of A level students has been conducted at BIS’s science lab in coordination with the British council. A coordinator from the school liaises with the British council to make all the necessary arrangements and register the students for Cambridge International Examinations.
